Food vouchers

We can provide vouchers for local supermarkets. These are intended for emergency use after local food banks have been used.

Gas and Electric top ups

We can provide energy top ups for emergency use after other resources such as ‘Hertshelp’ have been accessed.

Rent Shortfall

In some case, we may consider meeting a shortfall between rent and benefits where a discretionary housing payment application has been unsuccessful. This would be for a short period of time whilst a longer term solution was put in place.

Private Rented Accommodation

If you are homeless or at serious threat of homelessness, we may be able to provide some of the funds necessary to secure new accommodation; in limited situations, we may be able to provide private rented accommodation in Letchworth. Please contact us for more information.

Debt Solutions

Sometimes the only way to get out of debt may be a specialist debt solution such as a debt relief order. In limited cases, we may pay the fee for such a solution when proposed by a specialist debt adviser.

We may be able to help with various expenses. Please speak to your adviser about this.

Tailor made service

If you have rent or mortgage arrears, we recognise that the path to sustaining your home may take a little while, and that each solution may be different depending on the situation you find yourself in. Court Desk representation is provided free of charge through Stevenage and North Herts Citizens Advice. Please speak to your adviser to see if we can help put a short term financial plan in place to put you back on your feet again.
